Chail의 개인정보 보호

This notice covers the Chail website at https://chail.app, the Chail app and buying a plan. Your emails are processed on your device and never on our servers.

1. 책임 주체

EU 일반 개인정보 보호 규정(GDPR)에 따른 개인정보 처리 책임자는 사업자 정보에 기재된 서비스 제공자예요. 연락처: support@chail.app.

2. 이 페이지 방문

이 페이지에서는 쿠키, 로컬 스토리지, 제3자 스크립트를 사용하지 않아요. 페이지 조회는 저희 서버가 직접 집계해요. 집계하는 항목은 조회한 페이지, 이 페이지로 연결한 웹사이트(도메인만), 링크에 포함된 캠페인 매개변수(utm_…), 저희 네트워크 제공업체가 접속 정보로 파악한 국가, 그리고 휴대폰과 컴퓨터 중 무엇을 쓰는지예요.

페이지 이용 현황: 이 페이지는 열려 있는 동안 페이지에서 일어나는 일을 저희 서버에 알려요. 구체적으로는 어떤 버튼과 링크가 클릭됐는지, 아무것도 없는 곳이 클릭됐는지, 어떤 부분이 화면에 표시됐는지, 페이지를 얼마나 아래까지, 얼마나 오래 읽었는지, 등록 양식의 진행 단계(예: 입력란이 선택됐다는 사실이나 어떤 오류 메시지가 나타났는지. 입력한 내용은 절대 포함되지 않아요), 비교 슬라이더와 자주 묻는 질문이 어떻게 사용됐는지, 스크립트 오류, 페이지가 얼마나 빨리 로드됐는지예요. 저희 서버는 여기에 브라우저가 어차피 모든 요청과 함께 보내는 운영체제, 브라우저, 언어 정보를 더해요. 그 밖에는 기기에서 아무것도 읽지 않으며(화면 크기, 글꼴, 설정도 읽지 않아요), 기기에 아무것도 저장하지 않아요.

방문 구분: 서버는 매일 바뀌며 작업 메모리에만 존재하는 키를 사용해, 접속 정보와 브라우저로부터 코드를 만들어요. 이 코드는 그날의 이벤트와 함께 저장돼요. 키는 매일 하루가 끝날 때 삭제되므로, 그 후에는 이 코드로 접속 정보를 거꾸로 찾아낼 수 없으며, 대기자 명단의 등록 정보와도 절대 연결되지 않아요. IP 주소는 저장하지 않아요. 개별 이벤트는 30일 후에 삭제돼요. 그 후에는 코드 없이 일별 합계만 남아요.

브라우저가 “Do Not Track” 또는 “Global Privacy Control” 신호를 보내면, 이 중 어떤 것도 집계되거나 전송되지 않아요. 법적 근거: GDPR 제6조 제1항 f호(방문자가 몇 명인지, 어디에서 오는지, 페이지의 어떤 부분이 잘 작동하는지 파악하기 위함).

3. 대기자 명단 등록

저장하는 정보: 이메일 주소, 등록 시각과 확인 시각, 개인 초대 코드, 다른 사람의 링크로 들어온 경우 그 링크의 코드, 저희를 알게 된 경로(링크의 캠페인 매개변수, 이 페이지로 연결한 웹사이트의 도메인, 누른 버튼), 접속 정보로 파악한 국가, 휴대폰 또는 컴퓨터 여부, 브라우저 언어, 등록 전에 페이지에 머문 시간(초). 직접 선택한 경우에는 Chail을 사용할 기기도 저장해요. IP 주소와 이름은 저장하지 않아요.

목적: 대기자 명단을 운영하고(확인, 대기 순번, 초대), 순번이 돌아왔을 때와 Chail이 출시될 때 이메일을 보내고, 사람들이 어떤 경로로 Chail을 찾아오는지 집계된 형태로 파악하기 위해서예요.

이중 확인(더블 옵트인): 주소를 입력하면 버튼이 있는 이메일을 딱 한 통 보내요. 그 버튼을 눌러야만 명단에 등록돼요. 그 전까지는 다른 어떤 이메일도 보내지 않아요.

받게 되는 이메일: 확인 메일, 같은 주소로 다시 등록했을 때 보내는 짧은 안내, 친구가 내 링크로 등록했을 때 하루 최대 한 번 보내는 안내, 그리고 나중에 보내는 초대와 Chail 출시 소식이에요. 저희 이메일에는 추적 픽셀이 없으며, 어떤 링크를 클릭하는지도 추적하지 않아요.

초대: 누군가 내 링크로 등록하고 확인을 마치면 명단에서 순번이 앞당겨져요. 나를 통해 몇 명이 등록했는지만 볼 수 있고, 누가 등록했는지는 절대 볼 수 없어요. 내가 초대한 사람도 나에 대해 아무것도 볼 수 없어요.

법적 근거: 이메일과 명단은 이용자의 동의(GDPR 제6조 제1항 a호, UWG 제7조 제2항 제2호)에, 집계 통계와 악용 방지는 GDPR 제6조 제1항 f호에 근거해요.

4. 악용 방지

스크립트를 이용한 대량 등록을 막기 위해, 서버는 작업 메모리에서 네트워크 연결별 요청 수를 잠시 집계해요. 이 정보는 전혀 저장되지 않아요. 일회용 이메일 도메인은 거부하며, 입력한 주소의 도메인이 애초에 이메일을 받을 수 있는지 확인해요(메일함이 아니라 도메인을 조회해요).

5. 그 밖에 관여하는 곳

IONOS SE runs our server in a data centre in Germany. Cloudflare, Inc. sits in front of our server as network and DDoS protection and receives emails sent to addresses at chail.app on our behalf. Our emails to you (for example confirmations and sign-in codes) are sent through Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) from a data centre in Ireland; if Resend is unavailable, through our mailbox at IONOS. Cloudflare and Resend work for us under data processing agreements that include the EU standard contractual clauses. Nobody else receives your data. We do not sell data and we do not show ads.

6. 보관 기간

끝내 확인되지 않은 등록은 30일 후에 삭제돼요. 등록 정보는 명단에서 빠지는 즉시, 늦어도 등록 후 18개월이 지나면 삭제돼요. 2번 항목의 페이지 이벤트는 30일 후에 삭제돼요. 서버 백업에 남은 사본은 30일 이내에 덮어써져요. 이메일 주소가 전혀 없는 집계(예: “Reddit에서 120명 등록”)는 계속 보관될 수 있어요.

7. 이용자의 권리

자신의 데이터에 대해 열람, 정정, 삭제, 처리 제한, 사본 제공을 요청할 수 있으며, 처리에 반대할 수도 있어요. 동의는 언제든 클릭 한 번으로 철회할 수 있어요. 모든 이메일에는 등록 정보를 즉시 삭제하는 “명단에서 빠지기” 링크가 있어요. support@chail.app 주소로 연락하실 수도 있어요. 또한 개인정보 보호 감독기관에 민원을 제기할 권리가 있어요.

8. The Chail app and your Chail account

Your emails stay on your device. The app connects your device directly to your email provider. Emails, contacts, attachments, notes and passwords never reach our server.

Your Chail account is your email address. Our server stores the address and any further addresses you connect, your plan and how long it runs, your devices (a code for each device, its system, app version and language, and when it was last used), and when you created the account. When you connect an address, we send one short note to it; the app finds this note in your mailbox and sends back only the code it contains, so we know the address is yours. Purpose: your plan on all your devices, signing in without a password, protection against misuse. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. You can delete the account in the app at any time (Settings, Account); we then delete these data, except what we must keep by law (purchases, see section 10).

Gmail and your Google account. If you connect a Gmail address with “Continue with Google”, Google lets the Chail app on your device read, send, organise and delete your emails over IMAP and SMTP, and tells the app your email address. Chail uses this access only for what you see and do in the app: showing your emails as chats, searching them on your device, sending your messages, and archiving or deleting when you ask. Your emails and the access key stay on your device (the key is protected with the encryption of your Windows user account). Apart from the code in our own note (see above), nothing from your mailbox reaches our servers. Your emails are never sold, never used for advertising and never used to train AI models; they only leave your device when you send an email or when you connect another app to Chail yourself.

Chail’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can take back the access at any time: remove the address in Chail (Settings, Addresses), which also withdraws it at Google, or remove Chail in your Google Account under “Third-party apps and services”.

Outlook and your Microsoft account. With “Continue with Microsoft”, Microsoft lets the Chail app on your device read and send your emails over IMAP and SMTP in the same way, with the same rules: everything stays on your device. You can remove the address in Chail and withdraw the permission in your Microsoft account settings.

9. How the app is used

Unless you switch it off (Settings, Privacy, “Share how you use Chail”), the app tells our server which screens and buttons are used, the steps of setting up, that an email was sent (not to whom and not what), that a file was opened (only its type), errors, and when the window is in front. With it go a random code that exists only for this purpose and is never linked to your account or your addresses, the app version, system, language, plan, and the country derived from your connection. Never your emails, contacts, addresses, names, subjects, search words or file names. We store a hashed form of the code and no IP address, for 30 days. Purpose: to see what works and where people get stuck, so we can improve Chail. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. You can switch it off at any time; the app then sends nothing more and deletes what is still waiting to be sent.

10. Buying a plan

Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland). Stripe receives what you enter on its payment page (for example your email address, name, billing address and payment details) and processes it under its own privacy notice. We receive from Stripe your customer number, the plan, the amounts and dates of payments and refunds, and the payment status, never your full card or bank details. Purpose: to provide the plan you bought, invoices, refunds, cancellations and withdrawals. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR and, for keeping invoices and payment records (up to 10 years), Art. 6 (1)(c) GDPR together with German tax and commercial law.

Cancellation and withdrawal: when you use the pages “Cancel your plan” or “Withdraw from contract”, we store the address, the name you enter, the type of request and when it arrived, so we can carry it out and prove it. These records are deleted 90 days after they are completed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

11. Creating an account on the website

If you create your account on our website, we store your email address and send one email with a button to confirm it. Your account only exists once you confirm. We also note which button on our page led you there (for example “Download Chail”), without any link to your visits. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR.

Which button you see: to find out which button on our page helps people most, each visitor sees one of several buttons per day. Which one is derived from the daily code described in section 2. We only count how often each button was shown and clicked and what followed (download, account, purchase), without any code or address.

12. When you write to us

If you email one of our addresses (for example support@chail.app), we store your email, its attachments and our reply on our server so we can answer you and keep track of the conversation. Only the founders can read them, in a protected area with two-step sign-in. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR if it concerns your account or a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (answering requests). We delete these emails when the matter is settled, at the latest two years after the last message, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
